On this 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A. October 18th, 2020

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Saint Therese Parish,
This week, October 20th, is the Feast of the Founder of the Passionists, Saint Paul of the Cross. It is the 300th Anniversary of our founding, from Italy and now in 62 countries throughout the world. I first met the Passionists as a teenager when my high school in Brooklyn went on retreat at Saint Gabriel’s on Shelter Island. Many of you have shared with me that you have also made retreats with the Passionists...at Shelter Island, Jamaica, Queens, Holy Family in West Hartford and Cardinal Spellman Retreat House in Riverdale, Bronx. And quite of few of you remember Father Vincent Youngberg, a Passionist who gave a Mission here at Saint Therese when Bishop Peter was pastor.
So I ask you to please remember in your prayers our community and our mission in the Church this week, that we will be faithful to our call to “preach Christ Crucified”. And thank you again for your warm welcome!
Blessings and peace,Father Bob, C.P.
